The Winnenden school shooting occurred on 11 March 2009 by a 17 year old graduate of Albertville Secondary School, Tim Kretschmer. The shooting left 16 people dead (9 pupils, 3 teachers and 3 passers-by ), including himself and another 11 injured. He used a 9mm Beretta, a semi-automatic pistol

Beretta 92FS

    9x19mm Parabellum (used)
  • Muzzle Velocity of 381 m/s
  • Effective range of 50m

He took the gun with 200 rounds of ammunition from his parents’ bedroom. Jörg Kretschmer, Tim’s father and a member of the local Leutenbach gun club, faced serious public and legal scrutiny for lack of proper gun storage. Eventually, he was founded guilty of negligent manslaughter.

There are many speculations to what fuelled the misogynistic resentment as all except one of the victims were female. He felt belittled by his academically competent little sister and the girl he liked did not returned his feelings.

The main purpose of firearms identification is to determine whether a particular bullet, cartridge case, or other ammunition component was fired from a specific firearm. To do this, firearms examiners utilize a large variety of physical and chemical techniques to perform examinations with an array of equipment. This equipment includes bullet recovery systems, comparison microscopes, scales, Mikrosil casting material, calipers, cameras, and trigger pull gauges.
